Jon Edgar is an artist using improvisation in his carving practice. He has a contrasting body of closely observed clay heads of prominent and interesting sitters. He grew up in Horsham District, returning 6 years ago to the South Downs area with his young family. See his archive here; a biography here.
You can see public works at Lewes (Grange Gardens), at Pulborough (entrance road to RSPB Pulborough Brooks) and Hindhead (Devil’s Punch Bowl). A recent work on the South Downs at Slindon, now finished is written up as ‘A South Downs Year‘.
